This book is in Chinese. The author, a physicist from the Science Academy of China, emigrated to US in his early fifties and worked as an engineer in California, mainly in San Francisco bay area, until retirement. As a matured professional, the author sees the differences between China and US as well as countries in Europe in many respects. There are also comments on these differences and on what are going on in China. In addition, the book includes the memories of Cultural Revolution and striking issues happened during the young age of the author including a study on the IR camera from an invaded U2, US reconnaissance airplane, shot down by Chinese force. Outdoor activities including hiking, camping, fishing, singing and sightseeing are also the subjects of the book. The engineering background of the author makes articles in the book fact-based, logical-oriented and reading-worth.
