The great thing about a long life like Barry Magers is that theres plenty to write about. A 1940 war baby born in Reading, he met his father only after losing his mother at the end of the war. His unique perspective on the quirks, tragedies, and mundanities of life kept him going through the hard times. Holding an honors degree in English language and literature, he developed a passion for recording his thoughts, feeling and observations in verse during his spare time. He has been happily married for fifty years to Ivanka, with whom he is living a simple, retired life in Serbia. He survived having two children and thrived when his four grandchildren came into his life. But age is catching up, and he is considering his past, his present, and his future with always a quip, even when it comes to death and the afterlife. Often funny, often thought-provoking, and always endearing, Barry and his poems are a treasure.
