"Joy Cometh In The Morning," Book One of Vashti Ataya's Autobiographical Fiction "OVERCOMING" Series, introduces Verna Louise William's story of escaping an abusive, alcoholic husband. With her two young daughters, she flees from Arizona to Florida to be enmeshed in an exasperating Welfare system as well as enduring a perplexing, high-risk pregnancy featuring gestational diabetes.


Book Two, "The Trees Shall Clap Their Hands," follows Verna through rigorous strictures of Nursing School, the deceitful, distressing hijacking of her two girls by their father, and her glorious, triumphant graduation as an LPN.



Vashti is delighted to present Book Three in this Series, "Then Do We With Patience Wait." We join Verna as she begins her functions in both the Newborn Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Orlando's Orange Memorial Hospital. Truly an unprecedented honor, Verna is chosen as an Operating Room Nurse. She patiently prepares to go to Arizona and fight for her girls' return.
