Using a catechism is an ancient and enduring tool that parents and churches have used to build a deep, vibrant and lasting faith in their children for centuries. Catechism uses a biblical and proven question and answer methodology to lay the foundations of a robust multigenerational faith in Jesus Christ. The "Blessed Hope Catechism" is a substantial update to the "Advent Christian Catechism" and uses 160 questions and answers to help families train their children in godliness. In its breadth, this new catechism is comprehensive, covering the major categories of Christian doctrine with sufficient balance for each. In its depth, it seeks clarity without compromise in theological precision. The questions and answers are organized by major doctrinal categories. Each section begins with a brief and accessible summary and explanation of the doctrines discussed. Helpful resources for using the catechism in homes and churches is also included. This "Blessed Hope Catechism" fully embraces the Advent Christian tradition and truly seeks to "tell the glad story" to the coming generations of the glorious hope that belongs to all who trust in Christ. As we eagerly await the new heaven and new earth, we desire to tell the old, old story in a fresh and engaging way, so that all who come behind us might know the Lord and the wonders he has done. From the very beginning, the aim of this catechism is to open our eyes to the amazing hope and soul-satisfying joy that is ours through Jesus Christ, which will be made complete in the new heaven and new earth.
