We live in a world where almost immediately after we are born there are forces that corrupt a healthy family. Relational issues, financial tensions, tragedies and abuses run ramped in many families. And that's assuming there is a normal family dynamic to begin with. It seems like the innocence of childhood and growing up are things of the past. We are so much a product of our environment, and at times we neglect to understand what people go through emotionally and spiritually. We have become a society that has learned to hide what is really going on inside. What goes on in the mind stays hidden for years and decades for some, 'til one day they find themselves in therapy, on prescription medication, or self-medicating in whatever way they can find. What went wrong, and how did it stay hidden for so long? I've looked back into my story, the possibilities of how a broken childhood grew into a broken adulthood, but once finding hope, translating that hope into a journey towards what life could and should be. An in depth look into the dark corners I lived in. Confined by my own fears, and how and why I survived, until I could discover what life really was and grab hold of it. Despite the darkest of lives and circumstances, abundant life is attainable, and I'm living proof there was nothing to be afraid of all along.
