"Jesus was bruised and bloody from the beating; His holy body was mangled. His flesh dangled from His bones as Roman soldiers drove three crude nails, one into each hand and the third into his feet, with one foot on top of the other. The splinters on His cross that stabbed into His back multiplied the pain. Some of the blood that trickled down His forehead from the crown of thorns seeped into His eyes, burning like fire and blurring His vision.... "It is important to realize that Mary, and the disciples, and the many others who saw the resurrected Jesus over the forty days after He walked out of His tomb were eyewitnesses to the historical reality. The witnesses included over five hundred people on just one occasion. Their elation, simply put, was ecstasy beyond words. The power of death was broken that spring morning. The world would never be the same. "Will you pause and let yourself try to experience their excitement as they visited with the resurrected Savior, Jesus the Son of God?" Frank G. Tunstall served as bishop and superintendent of the Heartland Conference for eight years. He was the pioneer pastor of Northwest Christian Center in Oklahoma City, and ministered to that congregation twenty-three years. He also served as president of Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma City and editor in chief of IPHC publications. Dr. Tunstall is a graduate of Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, Georgia (A. A.); Methodist University, Fayetteville, N. C. (B. S.); Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Oklahoma (M. Div.); the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma (M. A.); and Phillips University (Enid Oklahoma, D. Min.). Dr. Tunstall and his wife, Lu, are in their fifty-fourth year of marriage, and live in Yukon, Oklahoma. They have two living children and five grandchildren.
