Bioscience is a multiscience; it is interdisciplinary and complex. Accordingly, its terminology is both diverse and extensive. As the word "bioscience" indicates, it is mostly from Greek and Latin which very few understand in our day. Word elements are the building blocks of which complex words are composed. They are important in the inter-pretation of elaborate terms. The acquiring of knowledge of these elements is a shortcut to mastering vocabularies. This volume allows the reader to analyze terms by their constituent parts; namely, the prefixes, suffixes, infixes, roots, stems (bases), combining vowels, and combining forms. This handbook of word elements is simple enough for undergraduate students, but intellectually stimu-lating enough for graduates and professionals.
