For centuries, the goddess known as Anastasia the Muse has danced through the beautiful streets of Spiral. She has whispered unseen into the ears of countless mortals, steering them toward love, success or adventure. Though many consider her a myth, she stays close to the city she loves and wouldn't have it any other way. But her one time lover, the shadowy Philosopher, rejects this as needless distraction. He casts her down among her people, proving she exists. This starts a chain reaction within the people of Spiral when they see their goddess broken and defeated. Riots begin and in short order, Spiral is engulfed in chaos. Finding herself lost and disowned, Anastasia struggles against herself to find the way forward. Decried by her people and taunted by Philosopher, she starts to wonder what kind of goddess she's been at all.
