Rudyard Kipling was a prolific English writer who is widely considered to be one of the greatest authors in all of literature. The Naulahka, published in 1892, is a novel that tells the story of Kate Sheriff, a young American woman who moves to India in hopes of improving the lives of Indian women. The book presents an excellent contrast between the differences in lifestyles.
