An investigation of the case of Dr. Margaret Miller, a lecturer in Economics at Liverpool University. Margaret Miller lost her job when she married. This was the 1930s and marriage bars were alive and kicking, but a nationwide campaign was organised by women's groups such as the Women's Freedom League to save Miller's job. In part it succeeded, Liverpool University removed its marriage bar, but Miller still lost her job.
