Advent Adventure takes families through the season preceding Christmas with the use of the Advent Wreath, the Jesse Tree, and Chrismon ornaments, using Scripture texts, patterns for the ornaments, prayers, and hymns, the family celebrates the Old Testament prophecy and New Testament fulfillment of the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Beginning four weeks before Christmas, the family can use this guide to anticipate the celebration of the birth of Christ. It is hoped this will verify the Reason for the Season and help Christian families diminish the consumerism and commercialization of this religious holiday. Additionally, it is preparatory to the Second Coming since advent means a time of preparation.
