I always have one rule about travelling and that is to always do so alone. So whatever possessed me to take my two eighty year old parents across the Channel escapes me. One had never left the country and the other one only did so to shoot Germans in the World War 2. Combine this with the fact that French O Level is the only exam I have ever failed in my life, and there is a recipe for disaster. This tale is one of discovery. Discovering the many historic sights of Normandy but also one of two Little Englanders finally realising that France and Europe isn't quite so bad after all.
