The City We Know
Elizabeth Hall
In the city of Kronoberg, a rising military presence known as Cross has taken over under the orders of their supreme commander. Their mission is to eradicate any foreigners in the city and its neighbors. Alisa Stryker, a teenage girl who was forced into Cross's youth chapter at the tender age of thirteen, lives alongside the dying and destitute in a poorhouse run by her sadistic and abusive trainer. With her only friends being an unfortunate drunk and two gamblers, she decides to take her future into her own hands and desert her current lifestyle, much to the chagrin of her trainer, who is a ranking officer in Cross. Along the way, she meets several people- a soldier without a tongue, a charismatic death camp operator, a heartbroken mother and a foul-mouthed baseball player being among them. Can Alisa and her friends survive while being ruthlessly pursued by her trainer and murderous soldiers, or will they be remembered in the future's history books as just another group of rebels?
