For me the city represents a fantastic chance to capture abstract images from the everyday surroundings that are a main part of our lives. The blending of modernity with our intrinsic existence and experiences of life around us generates striking and unique diagonals of energy that cry out to be captured and photographed. This book contains some of my best work focusing on architectural elements that use a diagonal composition to create energy in the image. The images are a mixture of London and Russian architecture, captured during my travels as a photographer. I have used Black and White, Colour and Image Toning to accentuate the diagonal compositions at work in the photographs. In particular, I really enjoy the play of shadows that help reinforce the compositional elements of Architectural photography. A bright day for me with strong sunshine presents many more true images then we could normally expect on an overcast and dull day.
