Do you remember? Do you remember those moments? Do you remember the moments that changed your life? On July 7, 2016, Jeff Hood was changed. Shots rang out in Dallas. Five police officers were killed. Nine officers and two civilians were injured. Hood was there. In many ways, he still is. There, organizing and speaking at the rally. There, standing in the middle of the pavement as the shots rang out. There, running down the street. There, trying to save lives. There, striving to stay on message. This is Hood's story . . . told through the verse he was able to construct in the days that followed the bullets. Jeff Hood is an activist and theologian. A graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Emory University amongst other institutions, Hood earned his doctorate with a focus in Queer Theology at Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University. Hood has repeatedly been arrested seeking liberation for the marginalized and oppressed.
