Plumstead Township's convenient location along the Delaware River and early thoroughfares has played a pivotal role in its development through the years. Crossroad communities and hamlets emerged around the mills, taverns, and general stores that served the area's mostly agrarian community. Plumstead Township features these communities, along with photographs of many early families of English, German, and Scottish-Irish descent.
