A man decides to make his own destiny and retreats to a rural community inside the Peneda-Gerês National Park, after thirty years working as an employee. He devotes full-time to two old passions: writing and photography. Establishing his own daily routines, he discovers the small pleasures and challenges of domestic life. Nature presents itself in all of its splendour: he finds out its rhythms, hardships, beauty and, surprisingly, for the first time in his life, he feels like being part of something. "The Four Seasons and a Townie" is an epistolary novel that follows a year in the life of the author, his reflections as he deepens all the nuances of existence and nature along the four seasons.
