Weaving together theory, history, and the authors' own research, this book looks back over the history, aesthetics and practices of environmental movements since the 1950s, revisiting the overlooked, "minor" stories in environmental activism to offer fresh ideas for environmental politics in an urgent moment of climate crisis.
Drawing on regimes of governance, forms of expertise and sites of contestation, it shows that active listening needs to take place within the movement to ensure that colonial histories and damages are addressed, and not perpetuated, in future campaigns and collaborations.
