In Texas, it is the TREC that administers broker licensing, while the actual exam is operated by PSI. A broker supervises an agent/salesperson. One major function of a broker is to arrange the necessary contracts for property transaction. A Salesperson must be at least 18 years old and must be either a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien who is also a legal TX resident. You must realize that many of the real estate skills and knowledge actually apply to both salespersons and brokers (MOST EXAM TOPICS ARE HIGHLY SIMILAR IF NOT TOTALLY IDENTICAL).
