Cedrik Lechanceux is a thirty-five year old attorney who works at Albertson-Basha-Croger Law Firm, downtown Phoenix, Arizona. He is the Research and Investigation Department Supervisor of the firm. His aunt Candice lives in a 55+ Active-Adult Community in the valley, an upper-middle class gated community where fun and joy are abundant and crime is rare. However, now a $175,000 sapphire bracelet has disappeared. The bracelet belongs to a widow who has lived there for the past three years. In the course of his investigation, Cedrik learns a lot about the daily lives of the people at Paradise Village and discovers secrets, big and small, that open his mind and broaden his horizon.
