Leadership is determined by having followers. It is impossible to lead without having others that will follow your influence. The success of any leader and the vision God has entrusted him with is largely dependent on his ability to work with others, and for others to work with him. The characteristics of those whom the leader chooses as his "armor bearer", or servant leaders in a ministry are very important. This book is written from an "armor bearer's" perspective of what he feels are the most important attributes that a leader needs from this ministry. We will examine the following characteristics of an "armor bearer": 1. Loyalty, putting the needs of others ahead of himself 2. Loving, serving out of respect and love. 3. Obedient servant, humble, and surrendered 4. Be a willing burden bearer, able to hold much weight 5. Committed, dedicated to the mission of God, willing, and available 6. Courageous and brave, defender in the face of opposition 7. Determined, a "never give up" attitude. 8. Competent, skillful and knowledgeable 9. Possessing leadership potential 10. Not envious or jealous 11. Intuitive, alert, anticipatory We will examine the ministry of armor bearers in the Old and New Testament, and for modern life in the Body of Christ. Although this book uses the masculine vernacular it is understood that the armor bearer ministry is for every member of the body of Christ, both male and female.
