Lost and Found is the third novel of Arnold Dyre's Jake Baker Mystery series. Beginning in the heat of a Mississippi summer with a lost dog and a found baby, the reader is permitted to accompany Jake and his friend Joe Bremer as they seek to unravel the mystery of the infant, mixed-race child left at the home of Jake's childhood friend, June Montgomery, in rural Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. Utilizing the skills of an almost-reformed former professional criminal, Foxy Malone, in an effort to also find June's lost, most-likely-stolen dog, Logan, Jake and Joe wind up finding much more than they bargained. Like in Dyre's prior novels, Untruths and Truths Untold and Death Too Soon, this his latest work, Lost and Found, offers intrigue and page-turning entertainment as Jake and Joe, old comrades from the Vietnam War, demonstrate that they still have what it takes.
