One of the things that is heavily neglected in the average Christian's life is the spiritual gifts he or she has been given by God.

First Timothy 4:14 says, "Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery."

Many of God's people do not have a clue about any spiritual gifts, let alone what spiritual gift or gifts they might have. Out of the many benefits that we can get from knowing our spiritual gifts is that when known, it gives us a strong indication on how God intends to use us. Due to this, it also plays a great part in knowing God's will for the individual believer's life. Putting your spiritual gift to practice and use means God will use you in a greater way with the spiritual gifts than without them.
