She was a grand niece of one of the best known archeologist of the last century. So it was no surprise when Anna found archeology as her life's work. Landing in Cambodia she found not only her work but also a country that felt strangely familiar. Then there was her host Nurung... Governor of Siem Reap Province but also a prince and the man of her dreams. As long as she could remember she had dreams about Nurung and about the temples of Cambodia, yet they never made any sense until she arrived. When she started working on the temples she felt like she was walking paths she had, a long time ago, but how? She had never been to Cambodia in her life. Anna met Heng, younger cousin to Nurung in College. After months of the same classes, they go to Egypt to work and fall in love. Yet he disappears for lengths of time but always comes back like he only left for a few minutes but never has a good explanation. Then there is Nurung. He is always there, always watchful. Handsome beyond anything Anna could dream of... only she has dreamed of him all her life. These three are brought together not by coincidence but by destiny's call. They are part of a larger picture and they all must take part or possibly be destroyed forever. It's a race against time and making sure history as we know it doesn't get messed up or the present day may not turn out like we know it. Will Anna find out the meaning of her dreams? Who will she give herself to, Heng or Nurung? Will those back in time at the ancient temples of Angkor Wat find a way to destroy all she holds dear... even herself? TKOA is labled Historical Fiction but it really crosses a couple genres . It starts present day, goes back in time to the time of Suryavaman II and ends... Well I can't tell you that, you will just have to read the book . How does a woman who grew up in NH, spent her summers in Camden Maine where I now live, write or know anything about Cambodia? I lived there for 11 or so years. When I went there in the first week in February of 1996 it was not the most settled country. I was fortunate enough to live down on the coast in Kampot Town of Kampot Province. In between Kampot and Phnom Penh was four hours of basic 'no mans land' that had to be traveled to reach the capital. If you wanted to go to Phnom Penh you left with a convoy and came back the same way. Living in Cambodia gave me a greater, deeper appreciation for my own country. I have been writing all my life, well ever since going to school. It runs in my mother's family. Louisa May Alcott who's grandmother from her father's side was a Bronson (My Mother's Family). Louisa's father was my great, great grandfather's 2nd couisn. My grandmother (mother's mother) family name was Oldenburg . That's where I got the name for Anna. Anna's Uncle was my own great uncle, George Reisner. If you don' t know what I am talking about get a copy of my book and read . What am I working on right now? Two projects with a third on the back burner. One of those projects is the second in the series of The Kings of Angkor. I loved writing Anna (Indradevi's) story along with (Jayavarman's.) Their's was a love story that was known at one time in Cambodia and I want to bring it to all of you. What do I do when I am not writing. I am a mother of 7, with four sons still at home. I write in the early morning hours, run/power walk or row after and read at night. A lot of times I am researching when I am writing and sometimes it's way too much fun so I have to stop and get back to writing.
