It is an important text in the field of Tantrik Hinduism and may have been written around the end of the first millennium. It is written in Sanskrit which is India's classical (dead) language and a sister language to classical Greek, Latin, and Avestan. There is a strong metaphysical content, but the text is also concerned with the worship and rituals of many of India's gods and goddesses.
