Surviving Your Senior Years recognizes that advancing age significantly impacts daily living arrangements and financial futures. Most of us can't afford to get old and infirm. But able to or not, we do. And somehow we manage and exist from day to day, wondering how it will end. Until one day it does just that. Far more significant for some people than dealing with physical needs is covering the tab for it all. It is only a matter of time before it will be financially impossible for individuals collectively and for the federal government to continue footing the bill for all the construction that is needed. The astronomical costs will continue to grow, and the eventual total is unknown. It will be well in excess of the current $500 billion annually in the United States alone. Eventually some of us may well be the ones that become expendable.
