As those created in the image of God, we naturally desire to communicate-with our Creator, with one another, and with the world about us-to participate in community. In this, we are "imitators" of our Creator who has communicated in various ways with us throughout our history and most specifically and perfectly through the "Word made flesh." We have been entrusted with the care of the language as good stewards. As a means to this end, this book has been designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of grammar with the hope that they will come to honor this gift and use it well.
