On the contrary, Sally's life hasn't been easy. She has relied heavily upon the Lord for support and knows He works behind the scenes on her behalf. The Lord called her to Him at a very early age when no one else in her home spoke of or even recognized God. Sally grew up in a dysfunctional home where she was the main caretaker of her baby brother when she was just five-years-old. Her mother was an alcoholic and her father was constantly working. Through all her adversity, she came to know Jesus. Sally and God expressed her life through these beautiful poems which blessed her and others throughout her life. These are not your ordinary, flowery poems as they are her real stories in poetry form. They range from the whimsical to the heartbreaking. Some will make you laugh and others will pull at your heart strings. As Sally describes, all of a sudden the Spirit of the Lord would speak to her heart and tell her, "We've got a poem to write!" She would drop what she was doing and disappear into her bedroom where paper and pencil were readily available. She and God would share their thoughts together as they wrote these poems, perfectly fitting whatever situation they were experiencing.
