In small-town Tennessee, the neighbors are friendly, the days move slowly, and folks feel safe-but 1969 would be a year Maddie Randall will never forget as she throws the covers off of her quaint town's seedy underbelly. After surviving a frightening day on the water, Maddie finds herself deep in trouble with her dad for her reckless behavior, but that is nothing new to the seventeen year old spitfire. Their only shared features seem to be their stormy blue eyes and a stubborn streak a mile long. This time, however, will have much more dire consequences than just losing her car privileges. Fortunately for Maddie, God's voice comes to her just in time to offer the protection she needs. When Maddie meets Frankie she feels an immediate spark. He charms his way past her usual defenses, even though she normally never dates guys who aren't Christians. But when Frankie shows some scary behavior, Maddie feels in her gut that something else is wrong. Maddie finds herself entering a dangerous world, and she must use her newly rekindled relationship with God to find the strength to persevere-for herself, for Frankie, and for her town. Trapped in unthinkably perilous situations, can Maddie summon the courage to fight back and find the answers she needs?
