A Walk Through History, Grants Pass, Oregon
Joan Momsen
Publisher Marketing: This is a casual tale of some the Grants Pass buildings we walk by each day and frequently enter to conduct business. The interiors of many deny the fact that some are old in the terms of a human life span. Sometimes the interior or facade of a building today hides the time they were originally constructed. Many business buildings in downtown Grants Pass are over 100 years of age and still in use. Some have been remodeled several times and the original facade has long disappeared. Remodeling is going on continually in the Historic District and buildings that are adjacent. Some retain their historical significance and some have been altered as to have no historical significance. Contributor Bio: Momsen, Joan Author Joan Momsen was born and raised in Grants Pass. She holds bachelors and masters degrees and taught at Grants Pass High School for 28 years. Upon retiring from teaching, she began volunteering full-time at the Josephine County Historical Society.
