The Fig Orchard: A Story of Hope is a fiction-suspense novel, written by the author H. Valencia. In this gripping story, two American Journalists travel to the island of Abaddon. They're assignment is to investigate a critically endangered species called cloud runners. Then a ceasefire, between the local government and a rebel faction, begins to deteriorate. The journalists find themselves caught in the middle. They're arrested for espionage and sent to a penitentiary - that is clouded by a flurry of speculation - known as The Fig Orchard. The Americans must quickly learn to survive in an environment where they don't understand any of the eighty-five dialects, are cut off from the outside world, and are constantly in danger. As days turn into months, they must align themselves with certain convicts; while trying to acquire the means and expertise needed to attempt an escape. In a flash, the political climate on the island intensifies; as does the climate within the prison walls. During their stay at the Fig Orchard, the journalists encounter a typhoon, witness public crane hangings, are forced to participate in dance rehearsals, are sent to solitary confinement, confront a bully named Golem, and more. In a penitentiary where no convict has ever escaped, can these men be the first - and how?
