Publisher Marketing: It was suggested I write this book as an inspiration to others who might be undergoing similar circumstances. Last fall, I met a couple of individuals who made me think yes, indeed this story needed to be told. One of these individuals had suffered much the same loss as myself and had had trouble finding something to read that was encouraging as well as uplifting. Thus, the writing began. This story is not meant to be one of sadness but one of hope. It is a story taking place over the span of the last ten years of my life. My life was rolling merrily along until one day, my husband became very ill, and subsequently, we were to be given the news he had only a short time to live-seven weeks to be exact! After his death, I returned to work, filling my time with work, enjoying the company of close friends, and basically little did I know, I was just existing. It was only when I retired that I realized I had to make a major change in my life in the pursuit of some sort of happiness and well-being again. Packing my car and heading out for a place I'd never been before, knowing no one and with no expectations, was absolutely the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I feel a changed person, but in a good way.
