About the Author


Mark J. Spanbauer was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was lucky enough to grow up watching the Green Bay Packers football dynasty of the sixties, coached by Vince Lombardi. Like most of the guys in his neighborhood, sports occupied most of his time. In high school, Mark played football, wrestled, and ran track, and he was a member of football and track state championship teams. He played college football and then taught physical education and coached for thirty years.


Mark enjoys his free time by living and walking along the river, working some hours at an athletic club, and fishing and boating.
