This day-to-day devotional came to life through Susan Roland's daily "Celestial Walks." During many of her most challenging years as a missionary, she would read Scripture and pray as she walked her Great Dane, Celeste. While Celeste would keep her eyes on the tree tops, always alert for squirrels, Susan attempted to keep her eyes on the heavenly things above. Fortunately for us, Susan kept track of many of "God's whispers" during these often difficult and dark years. Each entry includes a short Bible passage to read, often along with a brief phrase or thought to keep your God-directed focus throughout the day. The book features separate entries for each day of Lent and Advent. The format allows you to start at any time in your year, since it is not based on dates from the calendar year.
