Arontitus & Shimoen
Daniel Duvall
Arontitus and Shimoen lived rebelliously without paying the consequences. That is, until their misdeeds finally caught up with them. One day they found themselves sitting in a prison cell awaiting an uncertain fate. What they failed to realize was that they were about to become players in the greatest drama that ever unfolded throughout history. Their first encounter with Jesus was on the shore of the Jordan River. They witnessed Jesus' holy baptism by John the Baptist. They watched Jesus as he embarked upon His journey, gathering followers along the way. This is where their lives went down very different paths, only to be reunited with Jesus on that eventful day which had been prophesied about in the scriptures. Their fate had them hanging from crosses on either side of this man, Jesus Christ, who claimed to be the promised Messiah. As they hung there slowly dying, one of the criminals rebuked Jesus while the other one exhibited faith and true repentance. Loved ones watched from a distance as their men paid the penalty for their sinful lives. It isn't until years later that these family members discovered the truth behind which man joined Jesus in Paradise and which one perished due to the bitterness that he harbored, to the very end, in his heart.
