In 2007, he served as Artistic Director of the Blairstown Theater Festival in Blairstown, New Jersey where his play, "Letters From the Inside," was selected by the Star-Ledger as one of the five best new plays of the 2006/2007 New Jersey theater season. In 2004, he was honored by the Women's Conference Committee of the Screen Actor's Guild and the Crime Victims Treatment Center at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City for his ground-breaking work as the first man in the Hospital's rape crisis volunteer advocate program. "The Flash of Midnight" is his first novel.
