Her mother died three winters ago. All she had left was her father. Now he is gone; a victim of a tragic hunting accident just like her mother. And with his dying breath, he left her with one request. Travel the five hundred miles from their home in Oregon to the annual Rendezvous site on Horse Creek in the Green River Valley, Wyoming and find a husband.

Sarah leaves her home for the first time in her life and begins the journey through the flatlands, mountains, bear country, hostile Indians and other trappers that are not too friendly to a woman traveling on her own. She knows there is danger around every corner, but she must stay strong; she must make it to the site. Her life and survival depends on it.

But if she makes it there, will she be able to find a husband? Or will her journey only lead her to more loneliness?
