When Deni decides to dye her hair from brunette to blonde and Cindy decides to go from blonde to brunette, neither realizes how drastically their world will change the minute they walk out of the Hair Station Salon. Although Deni has always been focused on her academic accomplishments, she also has dreamed of having a boyfriend-a goal she has not yet achieved. But when she meets Jack, the new transfer student, Deni soon realizes he is perfect for her-maybe a little too perfect.

As Deni and Jack begin a relationship, Cindy quietly wonders why a stranger has taken to Deni so quickly. Two teenagers intent on making this year different soon realize that their adventure is going to lead them in an entirely new direction.
