Publisher Marketing: Inside the deepest jungle, an angry lion terrorizes all the animals, from the tiny lizard to the giant elephant. He struts down the jungle paths and announces to all the creatures that he is now their king and demands that they feed him nightly. The other animals are taken aback as they are accustomed to foraging for their own food, but the lion will brook no dissent. To show of f his rule as jungle dictator, he paws at a meerkat and devour s the tiny mammal. Into this fraught scene comes the fox, the smar test animal in the kingdom. In conjunction with the bushy-tailed creature, the animals will formulate a risky and daring plan for winning back their freedom. Intended for young readers ages three to eight, this book is a moving parable about how we cannot accept oppression and live in perpetual fear of the strong. The children's fable is writ ten by husband and wife team Huzefa and Ayuko. It is inspired by the bedtime stories Huzefa's grandfather told him as a kid. Through its simple story, the book impresses the necessity of building a good character and the ultimate impor tance of controlling anger upon young readers. As the fox, orangutans, and other animals will learn, even in a time of daunting dif ficulties and overwhelming oppression, one's problems can always be thought through and overcome. Contributor Bio:  Ayuko Ayuko debuted with the story " Us, You and Me" in Bessatsu Margaret magazine and has gone on to publish several manga titles in addition to The Earl and the Fairy. Born in Kumamoto Prefecture, she's a Leo and loves drawing girl characters.
