He has overseen the implementation of two major curricular reforms with the 5-14 curriculum and the new Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland. He has experience of leading and managing change in educational settings to bring about improved outcomes for learners. He is passionate about education and believes all educators have a responsibility to share and contribute to the shaping of our schools to best meet the needs of pupils. Prior to his current career, George worked for many years in business mainly in sales and management. He lives and works in southern Scotland and is married with three grown-up children.
