Will Fisher volunteers to recruit fellow alums to attend the 2007 Alumni Reunion of the Poitiers American High School. As an American teenager coming-of-age in France in the late 1950s, Will has special memories of how the closely-knit military community helped him make new "old" friends and how overcoming the cultural challenges made a life altering impact on him. His Army Brat background helps him win over Gina, his future wife, and her father, and from meeting Will's Aunt Meta, how Gina discovers the details of her deceased mother's experiences in the concentration camps during the Holocaust. Through conversations on the phone and during the reunion weekend, Will relives these experiences. At the reunion's closing brunch at Will's and Gina's, SueAnn's glancing at a photo, triggers a long suppressed memory that leads to a stunning discovery that SueAnn, Will, and their families have to resolve.
