"In one instant a car accident changed the lives of all our family.
My husband and I had multiple injuries. Mine were so extensive I was
flown by emergency helicopter to a hospital where a team of orthopedic
surgeons were waiting for me.. Every breath sent off explosions of pain.
I went from closing my eyes to block it all out, to realizing I had to
fight to live.

After many surgeries, I went from intense pain to discomfort. I
faced a depression that went from quiet gentle tears to sobs and deep
moans. I found myself in a world in which I could no longer cope. That
was followed by grueling therapy. I'd conquer some horrendous problem,
only to be met by another just as bad. Was misery my lot in life?
