Over half of the book is actually quoted Scripture, and each chapter ends with a set of review questions to cause the reader to draw conclusions about what he has read. Having been a born-again Christian for 67 years, and been a church member and regular attender of all that time, the author has been very disappointed with the church's ineffectiveness in training Christians in how to live the life that Jesus the Christ, their Savior, provided for them. Changing churches many times in an effort to find a church that did an effective job in doing this, proved to be frustrating. This book shows with quoted Scripture the great volume of benefits available to the Christian who will take the time to study the Bible and do what the Bible says to do to receive these benefits. The book comes after 44 years of serious Bible study, and a lifetime of church attendance and membership. The author challenges the reader to take personal responsibility for his own Christian experience rather than depend on the church to do it for him. The church can help, but it will never replace the great benefit of spending an hour or two a day in serious Bible Study
