Annie's Journey
Mildred Nidds
Annie's Journey takes you through most of the 20th Century and you will learn of the suffering and great joy when she emigrated to the New World from her bonnie Scotland.
The events of the 20th Century sent members of the clan MacGregor all over the world. The First and Second World Wars sent them to the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. But courage sent young James Cathcart and his bonnie bride Annie MacGregor to a new life in the United States. They parted for the first and only time at the Glasgow train station - they did not want to separate, but life in America was beckoning to them.
As their family grew, the youth helped the elders adjust to American customs, the elders passed on the joy family gatherings where they sang and danced to all the old Scottish and new American songs.
Annie's Journey will make you laugh, cry, wonder and bring back memories of life as it was for many immigrants and their families adjusting to their new lives in America.
