Chance Murphy, convicted of 1st Degree Murder,is paroled from Missouri to California. He must survive on the streets for 5 years before the invisible yolk around his neck is removed to reveal the "true" freedom. Times and things had changed since Chance Murphy roamed the L. A. streets as a teenager during the mid-60s. Now he was a grown man, fresh out prison after 15 years and going back to Cali. Omar Rashad received his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Sociology from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO. The author attended Manual Arts H. S. in Los Angeles, CA during the Watts Riots. He is a native of Kansas City, MO, who now resides in Atlanta, GA.
