Clinton Williams has been an officer in the Union Army, sheriff of a small town in New Mexico Territory, and a transporter of five escaped slaves across free and slave states. Now it is time for a new adventure! War is fast developing between the northern and southern states and Clint is soon caught up in the conflict. He was heading home to Indiana when he discovered that his friends in Arkansas had been victimized by a band of guerillas and had stolen his horse!
