Cloud of Doubt is a tantalizing tale set in the heart of the Mississippi Delta during the fifties and early sixties. The story evolves from father to son and from simple trusting times to the complexities of greed versus conscience. Trust and doubt are questions of the heart and mind. Does good always overcome evil? Does God work in mysterious ways? Is the obvious sometimes skewed by our thoughts? Claude, the epitome of the ordinary man, becomes the willing victim of a lustful seductress, Clara. Their chance encounter leads to seduction, romance, and eventual marriage. But was the encounter a chance or a well-laid plan of deceit, greed, lust and betrayal? Modenna, the colorful, faithful nanny to Claude's son, gets innocently sucked into the fray. Perhaps, more than the others, her judgment and actions surprise and entertain in the most unusual way. Danny, Claude's son, must find his own way and the love of his life. Brazil and Argentina should have been the last places on earth he would find them. Like Father, like son? Maybe.
