To this day, if you look carefully around the fisherman town of St. Jean Cap Ferrat, you will see lots of charming little parakeets flying through the harbor with their very bright colors. They were the inspiration for this book. Taking Flight is beautifully illustrated in watercolor by author, Piki Nestares Phelps.
