During WW2 Italian soldiers in Abyssinia stumble upon a hidden and guarded religious treasure. An officer soon recognizes it as the most powerful and revered Biblical icon. With the assistance of Vatican officials and the connivance of a powerful SS officer,a clandestine operation is hastily devised involving a dangerous trek across Africa and a hazardous U Boat journey stretching around the oceans and the Mediterranean islands of Malta. By the end of the war the icons whereabouts are unknown.
