In pursuit of answers he entered a stairway that lead him to the Quakers, then to the Vedanta philosophy, then on to P. D. Ouspensky and the teachings of G. I. Gurdjieff. By chance he found John Godolphin Bennett, one of the leading exponents of Gurdjieff?s ?system?, as it was known, and studied for 7 years at the Institute for the Comparative Study of History, Philosophy and the Sciences.
